Overview

The role of the Instructional Designer is vital in creating engaging and effective eLearning courses, instructor-led training (ILT), and blended learning solutions that ensure employees comprehend and comply with regulatory requirements, company policies, risk management strategies, and privacy program.

Responsibilities

As an Instructional Designer, you will be working with relevant departments and other business functions to create effective and engaging learning experiences by planning, designing, and developing mandatory compliance and relevant compliance regulatory courses. You will utilize learning theories and methodologies to ensure employees achieve the desired compliance outcomes often collaborating with subject matter experts to convert and operationalize complex information into accessible multimedia learning courses.

Your day will see you doing any of the following:  

  • Design and develop compliance and risk management training programs, including eLearning, ILT, virtual training, and microlearning.
  • Utilize authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe, Photoshop, Canva, Vyond, etc) to create interactive and engaging courses.
  • Apply adult learning theories, instructional design best practices (ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy, etc.) to optimize training effectiveness.
  • Create job aids, assessments, simulations, and case studies to reinforce learning objectives.
  • Keep training materials up to date with changing regulations and internal policies.
  • Upload, manage, and track courses within the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Monitor training completion progress and provide insights for improvement.
  • Generate training compliance reports for audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Partner with various stakeholders to ensure training accuracy and relevance.
  • Research and integrate emerging learning technologies such as AI-driven training, gamification, and scenario-based learning.
  • Recommend strategies to enhance learner engagement and retention in compliance programs.
  • Identify and implement best practices in compliance education for global employees.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fulfill other tasks related to the position as required.

Qualifications

  • Education – undergraduate degrees, Business, Information systems or related business discipline, preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in instructional design, learning development, or compliance training.
  • Proficiency in eLearning development tools (Articulate, Adobe, Canva, Vyond etc.).
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Knowledge of SCORM, xAPI, and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).

 

Knowledge:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently with limited required direction and guidance.
  • Ability to work on simultaneous projects and teams.
  • Ability to respond to internal requests for support and assistance in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Team-oriented individual.
  • Ability to work in a confidential manner due to access to information of a sensitive nature.
  • Strong time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
