Overview

This role will give you the opportunity to enhance your skill set by incorporating high level of technological skills in an entirely paperless environment, and be given the autonomy to find new or more creative and resourceful ways to accomplish the department's objectives. In short, as a Treasury Accountant you will provide financial, clerical and administrative services to ensure efficiency and accuracy in the recording of daily cash entries, while meeting tight deadlines for our unique technology-related real estate management company.  

Responsibilities

Working with the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Treasury team, your main focus is to ensure the various cash balances are reconcile each month. You will also spend a good part of your time on completing special requests, investigating, resolving, and documenting cash variances between bank statements and general ledgers. Some of your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Reconciling Cash General Ledger accounts monthly as assigned.
  • Investigating and resolving cash reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with external audit requests by researching and uploading the appropriate documents to our extranet.
  • Assisting with month-end closing process.
  • Providing a high level of internal and external customer service.

Qualifications

To be a good fit for this opportunity you should have:

  • 1-2 years of previous Accounting experience (Corporate, AR, and AP) ; a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience with an ERP System (Yardi Voyager a plus).
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Adobe Acrobat X, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite (high level of ability with Excel functions, shortcuts and formulas as well as some knowledge of VBA).
  • A good understanding of accounting principles and processes including General Ledger Journaling, Credits and Debits, Cash Movement and Online Banking.
  • Strong organizational and research skills, solid attention to detail, high accuracy, problem solving and decision-making.
  • The ability to meet tight deadlines and willingness to work in a paperless environment.
  • Great interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
